Benefits and Training:
In addition to the monthly salary, travel expenses are paid up to a maximum of 25,000 yen per month and health insurance is provided. Holidays are set as follows: one week for Golden Week (May), two weeks for summer (August), three weeks for winter (Dec-Jan) and two weeks for spring (March). Relocation allowance. Additional monthly addition for teaching certificate.
IB training will be provided for all staff in addition to the company induction. An introductory IB workshop will be arranged for all new teachers (unless already attended elsewhere) followed by other official and unofficial IB-related workshops. There are also frequent opportunities for visits to IB and non-IB schools for professional development.
Part-time/Full-time French

Kansai International Academy is currently seeking an experienced French teacher in the Kansai region. Students age range from 6-12. Applicants must be native speakers of French and have experience teaching French to children. Teachers are provided with the curriculum guideline and will be supported by the head of French department.
The classes are offered in the afternoon, 40 minutes per session. The maximum number of students per class is 8 students.
Monday - Friday
Classes are conducted between 15:00-18:00.
Transportation Allowance: up to 25,000 yen per month.
Required Skills
Ability to apply curriculum principles in practice and to plan effective lessons.
Ability and experience teaching students for whom English and French are not their first languages.
Assessment of student progress in French.
Teaching certification or qualification strongly preferred.
Experience working with children.

IB MYP/DP Science and Math teacher

Kansai International Academy has 9 campuses in Kansai and 6 in Tokyo Area with kindergartens and early learning centers, and an Elementary School in Tokyo, and our Kobe campus is K-12. Our Kobe campus is authorized for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB/PYP). The Secondary School has 6 classes (grade 7 to 12) with the IB Diploma Programme. We are also applying for the Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).
Main Responsibility:
Qualifications
BA/BSc degree holder
Teaching certificate or teaching credential in the subject or grade to be taught (PGCE, PGDip., etc.)
Physics background is a plus
A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience, prefer candidates with international experience
IB experience is desirable
Candidates must provide evidence of a clean criminal record/background checks in their country of origin and all countries that they have worked in.
PURPOSE:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability and willingness to teach online and/or in a hybrid context, as necessary
- Develop, maintain, and continuously update existing unit plans and related documents
- Work collaboratively with members of the department and positively contribute to departmental tasks, such as policies, common assessments, instructional practices, grading practice etc.
- Embrace the department focus on student-centered learning and critical thinking
- Encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress against targets
- Encourage and foster intellectual curiosity
- Serve in a pastoral support capacity for student advisees, and as the point of contact between home, dorms, and school
- Take into account the differing ability levels of students and differentiate work accordingly
- Set appropriate tasks and challenges according to the published timetable, and ensure that work is regularly evaluated, with constructive feedback

Early years and Kindergarten position

Kansai International Academy (Kobe) has an elementary school and is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme. We also have a secondary school in Kobe and is a candidate school for IB Diploma Programme.
We are not an English conversation school. We teach IN English rather than teach English so applicants must be aware of the challenges associated with holistic education as opposed to language instruction and be proactive about their own professional development. Currently, we are seeking teachers particularly for the following positions:
Main Classroom Teacher Positions for Ages 1-6 (early years and kindergarten)
We focus on various aspects of the children’s development, such as linguistic development, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, and creative development. It is a full school year position, with teachers being responsible for teaching one class of students together with a bilingual Japanese teaching partner.
Applicants must have experience caring for and teaching young children. A qualification in early childhood care or a degree or graduate diploma in education is strongly preferred. For some positions, we offer an earlier starting date followed by some initial training.
Since our academic year has already started, successful applicants may start as a trainee/substitute teacher taking on the classroom teaching position the following school year.
